We will learn about fundamental aspects of soil science and their relevance to agriculture, such as soil composition, formation and physical properties of the soil. Also, we will learn about soil organic matter and its importance to soil fertility. We will focus on fertilization, plant mineral nutrition and compost – composting process and application implication. We will learn about different soil health problems (such as soil compaction, salinity, acidity and erosion) and soil pollution and the ways to dill with these problems. Finally, we will learn about the water in the soil and soil-water-plant interactions.


The goals of New technologies course are to expose the students to Israeli agriculture technologies. Understand how Israelis do agriculture from the preparation until growing inside greenhouses, the students will learn about the controlled environment, water irrigation systems and will experience new agriculture technologies.

The modern method in horticulture introduces some of the challenges of desert agriculture, and solutions provided by the agro-research regional center.

The course reviews growing protocols for common crops: tomato, pepper, cucumber and strawberry,  and ends in a tour to the experimental greenhouse in the R&D regional center.


Organic agriculture is a production system that sustains the health of soils, ecosystems and people.

It strives to provide an ecologically acceptable alternative to conventional agricultural practices. As a result, the global
organic market is growing, and the consumer demand is increasing. During the course, we will be introduced to the concepts and benefits of organic agriculture.

We will learn about method implementations and regulation. I believe that agriculture needs to take responsibility for the environment, farmers and consumers. Organic agriculture takes that responsibility and can help conventional agriculture by adopting some organic farming techniques to become more sustainable.



In the course, students will learn the basics of genetics; Will taste some of the methods used in molecular biology.

These materials will serve as a basic understanding of the processes of cultivation, breeding and a basic understanding of seed production processes. In my opinion, a basic understanding of the elements of classical genetics is important not only for understanding the processes of breeding and seed improvement but also for providing the tools for understanding the essence of the life of living beings on earth.



The course will focus on understanding different plants functions (water uptake, photosynthesis, etc.), various plant organs (root system, leaves, flowers), how plants interact with their environment, in agricultural aspects. I believe that Improving our understanding of plant physiology will help us to improve food production and quality, create sustainability (by using less water, fertilisers and pesticides) and can help protect the environment. 

The course focuses on Plant Pathology and Plant protection.  The course will provide basic knowledge of plant-pathogen interaction and on the principles of plant defence. We will learn about the physiology of pests and pathogens of plants. Also, we will provide practical skills for identification of plant diseases in the field and the laboratory.

The objective of the postharvest course is to Introduce the students to the theoretical and practical aspects of physiological issues, pathology and technologies involved in the storage of fresh agricultural produce. For this purpose, I will teach about the physiological, pathological and technological aspects associated with storage of fresh perishable agricultural produce
